Your organization can win this award!
Two certification tracks are available for:
The GSM Institute awards a Certificate of Achievement to organizations that complete its study guide and implement its recommendations. Similar to other standard setting bodies, the self audit incorporates both end results measures and process measures. In management there is more focus on results or outcome measures than on the upstream processes that produce them. Indeed, a basic doctrine of management is that to some degree how results are obtained is unimportant as long as there are no legal or values violations, i.e., it is results that matter not how they are achieved. However, if downstream results are not being adequately produced then upstream processes need to change or be enforced.
The certification process is not accreditation, licensure, or other assurance as to actual results. It is meant to provide validation to change-oriented management teams that they are following practices in management correlated with the achievement of results. In what is essentially a self directed course of study and change, the management team has the opportunity to have reflected back to them that they are doing the job correctly. The process has passed its first review with a panel of 25 hospital CEOs who were asked to review content and applicability.
Two types of certification will be available as determined by the GSM Audit Instrument:

Organizations may use GSM materials and charge for these services if they have been reviewed and licensed by the GSM Institute. Consultant licensing terms depend somewhat on circumstances and are determined after discussion. General terms require a holistic approach to management as illustrated at this site (see the GSM Audit Instrument), the establishment of high performance goals for clients, a commitment to no-layoff recommendations to clients, and a pay-it-forward pledge to do some pro bono work. Contact Us if interested. Licensees will be granted use of a GSM Provider Seal for marketing purposes.
GSM Audit Instrument
The GSM Audit Instrument is available for download, and is periodically revised following review by our panel of advisors, experts in the field of management. Feel free to call us with your ideas and comments as to the development of this tool. This is a self audit approach, not an inspection from outsiders. The approach taken here is to provide aggressive management teams with a checklist of performance items so they can determine whether anything is missing in their approach to leading the organization. The purpose of the exercise will allow leaders to predict their own future by closely examining the path they are taking. There is a nominal charge of $100 to review an organization's submission and to issue a certificate of achievement.
